Productivity automation

Scheduled Tasks

Automate recurring work by having Manus execute tasks on a recurring schedule. Set it once and let it run automatically for daily reports, weekly research, monthly analysis, and other repetitive workflows.

Quick Start

Use these patterns to start immediately:

One-Time Task

Run this task tomorrow at 9 AM: Research top AI news from the past 24 hours and email me a summary

Recurring Task

Every Monday at 8 AM, research our top 5 competitors and send me a summary of any product updates or news from the past week

Complex Schedule

On the 1st of every month, analyze our website traffic data, create a report with key insights, and post it to our Notion database

When to use Scheduled Tasks

Use for

  • Recurring research (daily news summaries, weekly competitor updates)
  • Regular reports (monthly analytics, weekly performance summaries)
  • Periodic data collection (scraping, mention tracking, price checks)
  • Automated monitoring (checking updates, tracking changes)

Don't use for

  • One-off tasks that need immediate execution
  • Real-time monitoring (these run on specific times, not continuously)

Quick examples

Daily News Digest

Every weekday at 7 AM

Research AI industry news from the past 24 hours. Focus on funding announcements, product launches, and major partnerships.

Output: Email with a 5-bullet summary

Weekly Competitor Tracking

Every Friday at 5 PM

Check these 10 competitors for new blog posts, product updates, pricing changes, and job postings.

Output: Comparison table saved to Google Drive

Monthly Analytics Report

On the 1st of each month at 9 AM

Analyze last month’s website traffic and create a slide deck with visitor trends, top pages, traffic sources, and key insights.

Output: Slide deck posted to Slack #marketing

Managing Scheduled Tasks

View active schedules

Go to Settings → Scheduled Tasks to review all active schedules.

Pause a schedule

Turn a schedule off temporarily without deleting it.

Edit a schedule

Adjust timing, description, or output destination and save.

Delete a schedule

Remove tasks that are no longer needed.

Check execution history

Review past runs, outputs, and errors to track reliability.

Do this

  • Be specific about timing, such as “Every weekday at 8 AM EST.”
  • Define clear outputs, e.g., “Email me a 5-bullet summary.”
  • Include time ranges for research, e.g., “updates from the past 24 hours.”

Avoid this

  • Vague time windows like “in the morning.”
  • Unclear outputs like “Let me know what you find.”
  • Open-ended research language like “recent news.”
